Just across the river, the Trastevere neighborhood offers some of the most charming and artistic corners of the city. A working-class district since the Roman Empire, it nurtured artists, gave nobles a break from city life in the center and housed revolutionaries. Now its fame can now be attributed to its dense labyrinth of alleyways and its picturesque fountains, churches and artisan shops, not to mention some of the best food in the city.

After a short orientation at our shop, hop on your Segway and whiz across the river to see less well known Renaissance mansions like the Palazzo Farnese and Villa Farnesina, and the golden mosaics in the church of Santa Maria in Trastevere before heading to Rome’s most romantic fountain far off the beaten tourist path: the glorious Acqua Paola. Then roll up to the best panoramic viewpoint over the city. From the Gianicolo Hill you’ll get a viewpoint of the entire historical center, including St Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican’s gardens.

On the way back, you’ll cross the medieval Tiber Island into another of Rome’s most typical and quaint neighborhoods: the Jewish Ghetto where hundreds of years of history combine from 20th century all the way back to the ruins of an ancient Roman Theater.
